Must Have Travel Apps for Families

Summer is a great time for saving money because most families are trying to maximize their time together. Saving money on your cell phone bill can help expand the budget for family movie nights, road trips, staycations, and other great adventures. I’ve also found great apps that help maximize savings and ease family travel at the same time. I searched high and low for must have travel apps for families, and I’m excited to share with you what I’ve found.Spend your money on fun, not bills! These travel apps will save your time and money, just like Walmart Family Mobile. My must have family travel apps will make your vacations so much easier! ad #SummerIsForSaving

Gas Buddy

Gas Buddy is a fantastic app. It helps me find the cheapest gas closest to me. This app is great for road trips and home use too.Must Have Travel Apps for FamiliesThe city, state, or zip code search feature makes it so easy to use. Just like it’s easy to save money with Walmart Family Mobile’s unlimited talk, text, and data saves me money for family road trips, Gas Buddy saves me money to keep the road trip going.

Waze Navigation and Live Traffic

My mom has been on me forever about getting this app, and I have to admit she was right (yes, Mom, I wrote that). Waze has crowd-sourced alerts from real drivers that helps you avoid accidents, traffic, and those oh-so-friendly police traps.

VUDU

For customers like me that have the $49.88 PLUS Plan from Walmart Family Mobile, each month I renew our contract, we get a free VUDU◊ movie rental credit valued at $7.00. We love this app because we can easily connect our Disney Movies Anywhere and Ultraviolet accounts seamlessly.Must Have Travel Apps for FamiliesVUDU◊ is compatible with their tablets, which is really helpful when each of my girls wants to watch something different at the same time. Occupied kids on a long road trip equals happy parents!

Uber

Uber is a personal car service that is now available in most major cities nationwide. Neil and I used Uber when we were in Orlando a few months ago, and it really helped us save on transportation costs. I’ve even used it locally for girls night out, and it’s been a great asset to our city.

Snapseed

Snapseed is one of the best photo editing apps out there. I love sharing all of my family’s adventures here and on social media, and I want my images to look awesome. I dabble in Photoshop occasionally, but why bother when there are so many awesome apps, like Snapseed, that will do the work for you? Bonus: it’s free!Must Have Travel Apps for Families

Hopper

We don’t fly our entire family too often when we travel because it can be pricey, but I love Hopper for the times we do choose to fly. This easy, free app allows you to set your departure and return dates as well as airport of origin and destination, and it works while you wait. It watches flight prices for you and automatically alerts you when a good deal is available. No more searching forever to find the best price!

AccuWeather

I love this app. It’s uncanny how accurate it is with its forecast. “Rain starting in 47 minutes.” I didn’t believe it until I started using it, and now I can’t live without it. AccuWeather is really helpful in unfamiliar cities when you’re not sure if the weather is going to turn on you!Must Have Travel Apps for Families

Best Parking

As a suburbanite, paying for parking isn’t a common occurrence for me. I have to remember when I visit a new city, or go to downtown Birmingham, that I may have to pay for parking. Best Parking gives you a map of your location along with where to park and the cost. It also shows you which parking areas are closed or allow overnight parking, which can save you from an awkward tow truck rescue in the morning!

Having up to 15 GB of 4G LTE† data makes it easier to keep in touch with family and friends while we’re on the road. Having no contract or late fees to worry about makes Walmart Family Mobile a winning service in my book. What would you do with that much data for your family this summer?
