The Beach Club Gulf Shores
Tucked away down the Fort Morgan peninsula, The Beach Club boasts private beaches, outdoor swimming pools, and a variety of family-friendly amenities designed for guests of all ages. There are four towers of accommodations (Avalon, Bristol, Catalina, and Doral) as well as lakeside cottages.
The condos in each tower feature fully equipped kitchens so families can enjoy the comforts of home while soaking in the sun. Spectrum Resorts, which also owns Turquoise Place in Orange Beach, makes booking a breeze. You never even have to go by the front desk if you don’t need to! Everything we needed for our stay was waiting on us inside our condo.

Families can enjoy outdoor swimming pools, an indoor swimming pool, free arcade games, a gym, tennis courts, a sauna and steam room, and, of course, the salon and spa. The property also features direct access to the beaches, perfect for building sandcastles and swimming in the crystal-clear waters.
For those seeking adventure, nearby attractions include the Gulf State Park Fishing Pier and OWA Parks in Foley. Proximity to Fort Morgan makes The Beach Club a great homebase for exploring the historic fort or taking a ferry ride to Dauphin Island for some educational fun.
We had the unique opportunity to enjoy a campfire on the beach courtesy of Excel Beach Services. They set everything up for you and provide you with water, smores supplies, and chairs. It’s another way to enjoy the beach that you might not otherwise think about!
Onsite Dining at The Beach Club Gulf Shores
There are a variety of dining options at The Beach Club Resort and Spa. From the casual comfort of the Village Hideaway to the elegant atmosphere at Coast Restaurant, every type of diner can find something to their satisfaction. The Gulfside Bar & Grill offers beautiful views of the beach alongside refreshing cocktails, while The Creamery serves ice cream and a variety of coffee drinks.
We really enjoyed the Village Hideaway on our visit. The food hit the spot, and the space definitely catered to families. It didn’t hurt that it was steps away from the ice cream shop either!
Village Hideaway
Village Hideaway is a laid-back eatery serving up pub fare while providing a backdrop of fun activities like shuffleboard, arcade games, and game consoles. The restaurant has tvs throughout, which makes it a great place to watch sports. There are outdoor activities for any restless members of your party, and if you sit outside, you can still do your parenting duty and enjoy good food and drink while the kids play nearby.
Coast Restaurant
If mom and dad want a date night, Coast is the place to be. Coast’s website describes it as “fine family dining meets relaxed Gulf-side charm and fresh coastal cuisine.” Helmed by Executive Chef John Hamme, the upscale restaurant does indeed boast a kids menu of familiar favorites like fried shrimp, chicken tenders, and a cheeseburger. We did not get to eat here during our visit, but the menu does look exceptional, so maybe we’ll need to make a reservation on our next trip!
Gulfside Bar & Grill
Gulfside Bar & Grill is the poolside dining establishment. It is a walkup-style restaurant with not many formal tables or chairs. Who needs them when you can lounge by the pool with your grub? Gulfside Bar and Grill also serves cocktails and mocktails, and you can take them to go if you want to sit at the beach rather than by the pool.
The Creamery
A visit to The Creamery promises delightful indulgence for the whole family. Offering an array of handcrafted ice cream flavors, this charming spot caters to ice cream aficionados and coffee connoisseurs. It is the only place at the resort to get specialty coffees like lattes or mochas. The Creamery is the perfect for a post-dinner treat or a sunny afternoon snack!
Family-Friendly Activities at The Beach Club Gulf Shores
An array of family-friendly activities awaits at this Gulf Shores destination. We enjoyed the spacious outdoor swimming pool and heated indoor swimming pool. The sports facilities encourage friendly competition, whether it’s a game of beach volleyball, tennis, or pickleball. Our family chose to have a relaxing vacation this trip, but it’s nice to know the option to play is there.
Pools and Water Fun for All Ages
The large outdoor swimming pool area makes this resort perfect for families with young kids. The property features multiple pools in addition to the large clubhouse pool. Each tower has its own pool, but only the clubhouse has an indoor, heated pool.
There are boardwalks from each tower to the beach, and guests can take advantage of Excel Beach Services for chair and umbrella needs. They do all the work for you so you can just show up and relax!
Outdoor Adventures and Sports Facilities
The Beach Club offers eight tennis courts, two of which have recently been converted to pickleball courts. There is also a sand volleyball area nearby and plenty of walking space on the private beaches for thos who wish to add a little cardio into their day. Water sports rentals are available as well. Guests can rent everything from jet skis to parasailing experiences.
Personally, my outdoor adventure is renting a beach chair and umbrella, but there’s room for all types of people at the beach!
