One of the most important things we look for when visiting a new area is what there is to eat. Obviously, we were looking forward to amazing seafood near the Gulf, but I was also interested in what else there might be to try. These are the best places to eat on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Thanks to Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast for covering a good portion of our activities and meals during our visit.

Best Place to Eat Breakfast on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well, it is to me anyway. I love all the breakfast foods. Eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, bread, you name it, I could eat it for every meal.

One of the best places to eat on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is The Greenhouse on Porter.

On our last day on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, we discovered a little, off-the-beaten-path breakfast spot called The Greenhouse on Porter. It is literally a former greenhouse converted into a breakfast spot.

Delicious biscuits and fruit are served at Greenhouse on Porter in Ocean Springs Mississippi.

They serve biscuits, but not just any old biscuits. We ordered their special “Mardi Gras” themed biscuit with “fluff” (butter) and colorful Mardi Gras sprinkles. It was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. The girls enjoyed a parfait and plain biscuit with Nutella (because who doesn’t love Nutella?), and their pour-over style coffee was very fresh and not bitter at all.

Best Places to Eat Lunch on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

We stayed at the Margaritaville Resort, and it was a great resort for our family. The resort has several family-friendly activities, including an entire floor dedicated to gaming and arcades.

Margaritaville Restaurant in Biloxi Mississippi.

For mom and dad, the real excitement was in the Margaritaville Restaurant on the property. With menu choices like the Cheeseburger in Paradise and the Key West Chicken Quesadillas, there wasn’t a wrong choice I made. I only wish we had had more time during our stay to try out all of the restaurant offerings.

Eat lunch at one of the best places on the Mississippi Gulf Coast called Eat Drink Love.

Another restaurant we had the chance to try at lunch was Eat Drink Love. It is a catering company, but they also have a cool, boutique restaurant vibe with fun outdoor seating, and it was right on the Mardi Gras parade route in Ocean Springs. I highly recommend their club wrap or chicken salad sandwich. Each meal comes with house-made chips and a delicious cookie!

Best Place to Eat Dinner on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Finally, this last recommendation could actually fit in the lunch or dinner category, even though we spent our last dinner there.

Pizza from Biloxi staple restaurant Sal and Mookies.

Sal & Mookies is a Biloxi staple. They serve New York-style pizza and amazing ice cream options. The pizza was so fresh and flavorful, and they had tons of options for toppings and sauces. We loved the ability to customize our pizza just how we liked it!

Fried cheese ravioli with marinara from Sal and Mookies.

Not to knock their desserts, but I honestly could have eaten more appetizers than dessert and been a happy girl. Our waitress suggested the cheese-filled, fried ravioli, and boy oh boy was it amazing. Fried food can be so greasy and heavy, and these were creamy and light.

Don’t miss out on Sal and Mookies‘ shakes, floats, and sundaes! Maybe just plan another visit so you don’t have to wear your stretchy pants to fit it all in.
